• Argentinian Victoriano Antonio Santillan (11-6-2, 8 KOs) saved the day when he stepped in on short notice to face Yosif Panov for the UBO International Welterweight title on April 6 in Bulgaria. He lost the fight on points, but did very well.

Five weeks later, on May 13, he showed just what a good fighter he is when he stopped Benjamin Dubois (11-1-1) in six rounds in Campbon, France to win the IBO Mediterranean Welterweight title.

Exactly when Argentina became a Mediterranean country remains a mystery, but a huge congratulations to a real, proper fighter in Santillan, winning his first professional title.

• UBO International Heavyweight titlist Nelson Hysa remained undefeated when he defeated experienced Namibian Wilbeforce Shihepo (25-16, 18 KOs) on June 4 in Albania.

Hysa, now 9-0 (7), stopped Shihepo in the third round of a non title fight.

• Another UBO champion build on his resume on June 10, as undefeated Inter-Continental Lightweight ruler Abel Mendoza moved up to Super Lightweight to capture the vacant WBA Fedebol title, stopping Venezuelan Helber Rojas (20-8-2, 17 KOs) in eight rounds.

From El Paso Texas, 27-year-old Mendoza is now 36-0 (27) since turning pro in 2016.

• UBO Inter-Continental and Latino Heavyweight champion Jesus “Tito” Escalera retained the Colombian Heavyweight crown he also holds when he scored a third round stoppage of Deibis Berrocal (20-14, 17 KOs) in the third round on June 17 in Melgar.

A pro only since October of last year, Escalera has been incredibly busy as he improved his record to 13-0 (13).
