Contenders Immanuwel “The Chosen One” Aleem
(19-3-2, 12 KOs) and Malcolm “Unmerciful” Jones
(17-3, 10 KOs) are set to contest the vacant
title, in what looks like a genuine fifty-fifty
fire-fight.
In
another UBO title fight on the bill, reigning
Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight champion
Jaqeem Hutcherson (10-1-1) defends his title in
a rematch against the man he won the title
against, Maryland-rival Brandon Chambers
(9-2-1).
30-year-old Immanuwel Aleem, from Richmond in
Virginia, is a former WBC Silver Middleweight
titlist, and holds notable victories over
Jonathan Cepeda (17-1) and Levgen Khytrov
(14-0), as well as draws against Demond
Nicholson (17-1) and Matvey Korobov (28-2).

Following a
couple of close defeats in 2021 to Ronald Ellis
(16-1-2) and Amilcar Vidal Jr. (12-0), both by
majority decision, Aleem was out of the ring for
over two years, but returned last October with a
second round knockout of journeyman Antonio
Hernandez.
In Malcolm
Jones, he will definitely be taking a giant leap
up in class from his comeback fight, as the
Indianapolis native is brimming with confidence
coming off two wins.
Jones (31)
has also proved his worth by defeating good
opposition, out-scoring Curtis Hill (10-1) and
knocking out former world champion Less
Sherirngton (37-12) from Australia, but a victory
over Aleem would undoubtedly be the biggest of his
career.
