Gonzalez
(28), however, has other ideas, brimming with
confidence coming off a recent victory. He too turned pro in 2016, and won the
Venezuelan national title a couple of years later.
Twice
before has Gonzalez ventured outside Venezuela for
major fights, both in 2019, losing to undefeated
Juan Pablo Romero for a WBC title in Mexico, and
Diego Ramirez by close decision for the IBF youth
world title in Argentina.
Entering
the fight in Melgar with momentum, he will be
aiming to make it third time lucky in what is also
the biggest fight to date for him.
“Pretty
Boy” vs. “Gigante”, two boxers in the prime of
their careers looking to finish 2023 with a bang
and become world champion.
