It is no exaggeration to say that undefeated Samantha Worthington will be surrounded by greatness when she fights former world champion Yazmin Rivas for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Lightweight title on January 20 at The Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Worthington (7-0, 6 KOs) and Rivas (40-11-1, 11 KOs) will clash in one of the featured bouts of a show promoted by Dreams Realized Promotions at the museum and cultural center dedicated to “The Greatest” in his first home-town.

Worthington (28) is from nearby Lexington, and can expect plenty of support in the arena as she steps up in class to face former four-time world titlist (WBA, IBF, WBC) Rivas from Mexico.

Sammy The Heat” proved that she is ready for more when she demolished the normally durable Angi Romero in the first round on December 12, in Romero´s home-country of Colombia. But obviously Rivas is quite a few steps up the ladder.

While this will be the Americans first world championship fight, “La Rusita” Rivas has taken part in no less than twenty-two, of which she has won fourteen!

But Rivas (35), a genuine warrior, will be moving up in weight, as her last bout was at Lightweight, so she will need all her experience to make up for the advantage Worthington has in height, reach and punching-power.

If Worthington prevails, and becomes UBO world champion, she will have made an impressive break-through as one of the top names at Super Lightweight.

If Rivas proves too much for Worthington, and becomes a five-time world champion, she will have further cemented herself as one of the best Mexican female boxers of all time.

The Muhammad Ali Center is the perfect setting for both scenarios!
