21-year-old Robert Lloyd-Taylor Jr. has been added to the massive Platinum Punch Promotions card at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana on December 19.

Lloyd-Taylor, from London, will face local man Michael Bibi (23) for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Youth Welterweight title, the fourth UBO championship fight on the show.

Promoter/boxer Tony Bange will face Kulwa Bushiri for the vacant UBO International Super Welterweight title, UBO All-Africa Welterweight champion Sampson Segbedzi will defend against compatriot Isaac Aryee, and Sangeeta Birdi fights Flora Machela for the UBO International Featherweight title.

Robert Jr. (4-0) is the son of Robert Lloyd-Taylor, who had a good professional career himself, compiling a 19-8 record between 2002 and 2015, and now trains his son.

But its fair to say that Senior underachieved as a boxer, as he, while defeating some very good opponents, never won a pro title.

So now the father-son duo travels to Africa for the opportunity to bring the first championship belt into the family. It wont be an easy task against Bibi (4-3), who has won his last three and will have the crowd behind him.

The main event of what is arguably one of the most significant cards in Africa this year will see former UBO world Bantamweight champion Prince Patel fight Liborio Solis from Venezuela for the vacant IBO world title.

Four Brits fighting for titles on the same night in Ghana! Not something you see every day...
