When he
signed for his first title fight, for the WBC
South America crown, it was expected that Da Silva
would be tested by Maximiliano Jorge Gomez (29-6)
in June of 2022, but it turned out to be another
blow-out as the Argentinian also failed to make it
through the first three minutes.
He was then
matched with Chilean champion Juan Diaz (10-0) for
the vacant UBO world title for July 1 of this
year, in his home-town, but ended up fighting
Reinaldo Gonzalez (19-8) when Diaz pulled out on
short notice due to injury.
The switch
didn't faze Da Silva, who won by second round
stoppage in front of a passionate crowd at the
Para Clube, and with none other than “Popo”
Freitas helping his father in the corner.
The future
looks bright for Da Silva, and its safe to say
that, besides possessing talent and power, he also
has a team with the experience and knowledge to
keep him winning for a long time.
