He was
still on top of his game when he boxed former
WBC world champion Sirimongkhon Iamthuam (94-3,
60 KOs) for the UBO title in Singapore on May
27, 2017, losing by controversial split decision
(95-94, 96-92, 94-95).
A big
puncher, his first pro fight recorded by BoxRec
was in April of 2001, a ten-rounder he lost. In
fact, four of his first six bouts on BoxRec were
defeats, but he would more than make up for
those blemishes in the years to come.
In
December of 2003 he won the Indonesian national
Lightweight title, and during a run of seventeen
straight victories he retained that crown twice,
added the Welterweight version and captured the
WBO Asia Pacific Welterweight title.

When be
fought Iamthuam his record stood at a respectable
24-8 (20), but he was a significant underdog
against the accomplished Thai. Never the less,
some felt he deserved the victory after ten close
rounds, having knocked down the favourite in round
one, but two of the judges disagreed.
Following
that fight, Siwu came up short in WBC and IBF
regional title fights, but has won his last three
to take his current record to 31-13 (27) according
to BoxRec.
Now 40
years old, his most recent recorded professional
boxing bout was in May of 2022, but he has since
competed at a high level on the Asian MMA circuit
where he frequently headlines.
