Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight title-challenger Larry “The Destroyer” Siwu from Indonesia is a fighter through and through.

He was still on top of his game when he boxed former WBC world champion Sirimongkhon Iamthuam (94-3, 60 KOs) for the UBO title in Singapore on May 27, 2017, losing by controversial split decision (95-94, 96-92, 94-95).

A big puncher, his first pro fight recorded by BoxRec was in April of 2001, a ten-rounder he lost. In fact, four of his first six bouts on BoxRec were defeats, but he would more than make up for those blemishes in the years to come.

In December of 2003 he won the Indonesian national Lightweight title, and during a run of seventeen straight victories he retained that crown twice, added the Welterweight version and captured the WBO Asia Pacific Welterweight title.

When be fought Iamthuam his record stood at a respectable 24-8 (20), but he was a significant underdog against the accomplished Thai. Never the less, some felt he deserved the victory after ten close rounds, having knocked down the favourite in round one, but two of the judges disagreed.

Following that fight, Siwu came up short in WBC and IBF regional title fights, but has won his last three to take his current record to 31-13 (27) according to BoxRec.

Now 40 years old, his most recent recorded professional boxing bout was in May of 2022, but he has since competed at a high level on the Asian MMA circuit where he frequently headlines.
