Two young contenders are set to clash for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title on April 6 at the Arena Armeets in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Local hero Yosif Panov (23-3, 11 KOs) will face Kosovo´s Edmond Zefi (13-2, 9 KOs), topping the bill of Max Fight 53 promoted by Max Fight Promotion in association with Alexeev Boxing.

The Viper” Panov got thrown in at the deep end early in his career, losing three of his first five bouts in the United Kingdom, but has since won twenty-one straight.

One of the most popular boxers in his country, Panov won the Bulgarian national Super Welterweight title in 2018, which he later relinquished only to regain it in 2021.

Now, still only twenty-six years old, he is moving down to Welterweight for his first non-domestic championship fight.

In Edmond “King” Zefi (25) he will be in with a hard-punching and determined opponent, who has proved his worth on several occasions.

In December of 2021 Zefi captured the UBO Youth World Super Welterweight title, defeating Italian Christian Mazzon in Pec, Kosovo. For him it will also be an acid test, going into his opponents back yard.

While it wont be the end of the world for the loser, the winner will take a big step forward in his career, and both men should be commended for facing each other in pursuit of glory.
