Featured UBO Champion: Emre Karaceper

He was the underdog when he fought for, and won, the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) European Light Heavyweight title back in May of last year.

 
 

But Turkey´s Emre Karaceper rose to the occasion and beat undefeated WBC Asian champion Dzhamal Usmanov (7-0-1, 3 KOs) from Ukraine in what would later be declared the 2022 UBO Fight of the Year.


23 years old at the time, Karaceper showed incredible poise and determination, besides skills, and in only his fifth paid outing he captured his first title by close unanimous decision (96-94, 96-94, 96-93).


Unfortunately he has not been able to fully capitalize on what was a very impressive performance, and has only boxed once since.


 
 

This past November, he improved his record to 6-0 (3) with a routine non-title victory in Istanbul, but he must be chomping at the bits to get back in the ring for another big fight.

Karaceper is a very popular, talented and charismatic young fighter, and beating a quality opponent such as Usmanov proved that he can go a long way with the right guidance.
