Addressing the media in attendance, promoter
Acram Iga informed that local veteran Joey
Vegas, a former African (ABU) and WBC
International Light Heavyweight Champion who
started his professional career in 2004 in
England, will finally get his shot at a world
title.
In the
main event of the big show, Vegas (20-16-3, 13
KOs) will face former World Boxing Federation
(WBF) World Middleweight Champion Karama
Nyilawila (25-18-3, 14 KOs) from Tanzania for
the vacant UBO World Cruiserweight title.
Unlike
the local man, Nyilawila has had several
opportunities to win world championships. After
capturing the WBF Middleweight crown in 2010 he
came up short in an attempt to win the UBO World
Super Middleweight title in 2015.
