A new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion was crowned on Sunday (December 18) at the Sportpalast in Bielefeld, Germany, as Ranee Schroeder and SSL Sport & Eventpromotion staged a five-bout card.

Jean Moraiti from France won the vacant title by second round stoppage over late substitute Nikoloz Berkatsashvili, who travelled from Georgia at very late notice when Czech national champion Michal Dufeck pulled out of the engagement only a few days ago.

After a fairly even first round, with Berkatashvili slightly on top, Moraiti came out strong in round two and floored his opponent four times to prompt the referee to wave the onslaught off five seconds before the end of the round.

Moraiti, who also captured the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International title in the process, goes to 14-10-4 (2), and Berkatsashvili´s record is now 27-16 (10).
