Oezlem Sahin made a statement on Saturday night (June 18) in Velbert, Germany when she destroyed Agnes Draxler from Hungary in two rounds to win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ Female World Minimumweight title at the EMKA Sportzentrum.

Sahin, now a three-time world champion in two weight-classes, floored Draxler twice in the second round with massive overhand rights, prompting referee Thomas Hackenberg to stop the onslaught as an overjoyed Sahin celebrated with the crowd of around 1400 fans.

Also on the line was the World Boxing Federation Inter-Continental championship, and at thirty-nine years of age Sahin, from Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, is back on top after suffering her first defeat in the professionals and losing her world titles last November.

With the impressive performance, Turkish-born Sahin improved her career statistics to 21-1-1 (7), while 20-year-old Draxler drops to 9-13 (1) after fighting some of the best in the world in and around her weight division.

The show, which included one additional title fight and six undercard match-ups, was staged by Fight Club Wuppertal.
