The very
experienced Mada Maugo (17-11, 12 KOs) is back
at Middleweight after a stint at Super
Middleweight and most recently Light
Heavyweight, where he lost to Matamba Postolo
for the UBO World title this past March in D. R.
Congo.
He
rebounded with a unanimous decision over UBO
All-Africa Champion Thomas Mashali in a
non-title fight in August, and is reportedly in
top shape for his second crack at world honors,
this time in his natural weight division.
In the
co-featured bout
23-year-old prospect Varazdat Chernikov (7-2, 2
KOs) is set to get his hands full when he
squares off with former WBF World Champion, and
reigning UBO International Champion, Karama
Nyilawila (18-10-2, 10 KOs) for the vacant UBO
Inter-Continental Super Middleweight title.
While
Chernikov has yet to fight more than eight
rounds, Nyilawila
(30)
is a veteran of ten title fights
since
turning pro in 2005,
and won the UBO International crown in his
latest outing by defeating fellow countryman
Said Mbelwa.
