UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

In April of 2013, undefeated Djamel Dahou of Algeria traveled to Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania to capture the Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Super Lightweight title with a second round knockout of local man Hamis Ajali.

It was a big blow to the pride of the boxing community in Tanzania, and now veteran campaigner Said Yazidu have officially challenged Dahou to come back to Tanzania, and give him a chance to get revenge for his country.

King” Dahou (11-0, 10 KOs) has accepted the challenge, and will square off with Yazidu (29-12-1, 14 KOs) for the vacant UBO World Welterweight title on September 12 at the YMCA Hall in Moshi, on the slopes of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro.

After winning the All-Africa crown, Dahou fought five more times in 2013, all knockout victories in Ghana, including a stoppage of Frank Dodze for the WBC Youth World Welterweight title.

Since then he has been inactive, due to lack of sponsors and help from Algerian sports authorities, and have only been able to keep training full time due to the support of his family and his Algerian fans.

Now the 22-year-old from Tiaret has a big opportunity to finally return to action, and realize his dream of becoming world champion.

Its very hard to be a professional boxer in Algeria, and most of us don’t have the optimal circumstances. For instance, I don’t even have a ring in my gym, so this is a chance I must take and its a great opportunity for me”, says Djamel Dahou.

Winning the UBO world title for my family, my fans and my country will make me the proudest man in the world, and it will be living proof that despite hard conditions it is possible to achieve your goals.”

The Universal Boxing Organization™ is proud to be associated with this fight, seeing how the people of Algeria is behind their hero and help him in his quest to become a world superstar. Should he win the UBO world title on September 12, he has proved that he is really the King of Africa.
