Nyilawila vs. Mbelwa Ends In Technical Decision

The Universal Boxing Organization™ International Super Middleweight title was picked up by Karama Nyilawila, after the fight between local rivals Nyilawila and Said Mbelwa on Saturday night (May 24) in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, ended in a technical decision.

 
  

While it was a competitive and spirited bout at the Friends Corner Hall, it was also foul-filled, but when Said Mbelwa suffered a cut early on it was from an accidental headclash.



In round eight the referee decided that the injury was too severe to allow Mbelwa to continue, and since Nyilawila was ahead on the scorecards, he was declared the winner by Technical Decision as per the UBO rules & regulations.

 
 
 

Karama Nyilawila´s record is now 18-10-2 (10, and Said Mbelwa is 27-16-4 (19). The fight was promoted by Ally Amar Mwazoa and his Mwazoa Promotion.
