In a rough and
tumble affair, Yeromenko came out swinging and
tried to unsettle Kanbolatov with pressure and
hard hooks to body and head, but the local man
stayed focused and scored well from the outside,
and clinching when Yeromenko got too close.
It was an
evenly contested fight, but Yeromenko was
feeling the effects of his fast start, and
started to tire badly after the fourth round. In
round six he was cut over the left eye, and
referee Alexander Kalinkin ruled that it was
caused by an accidental clash of heads.
Since
Yeromenko was unable to continue, bleeding badly
from his injury, the bout went to the scorecards
where Kanbolatov was ahead by 49-46, 49-46 and
49-47.
Aliklych
Kanbolatov is now 8-2 (3), and five-time
Ukrainian amateur champion Vladyslav Yemorenko
drops to 1-1 (0), failing in his attempt to win
a title in record time.
Also on the
show, UBO World Cruiserweight Champion Dmitry
Kudriashov remained undefeated with a seventh
round stoppage of Ivica Bacurin (17-5-1, 7 KOs)
from Croatia. Nicknamed “The Russian Hammer”,
Kudriashov is now 14-0 (14).
