On Friday (May 9)in Papeeete, Tahiti, a massive celebration broke out when undefeated local heavyweight Temoo Tamaititahio won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ International Heavyweight title.

In front of more than 2000 spectators, Tamaititahio put on a scintillating performance to stop Leamy Tato from New Zealand by technical knockout in round five of the scheduled twelve rounder.

Tamaititahio took control of the fight from round one, much to the delight of the partisan crowd, and never allowed his opponent to have much success.

The end came when referee Reginald Leca decided that Tato had taken enough punishment, and correctly saved the brave visitor from the onslaught.
