UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

The PTA Hall in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania will be the stage for two Universal Boxing Organization™ championship fights on March 29, when promoter Ally Ammar Mwazoa and his Mwazoa Promotions invites local boxing fans to an evening of action-packed boxing.

In the co-featured bouts, local pride is at stake as Allan Kamote will face Athuman Rashid for the vacant UBO International Lightweight title, and Thomas Mashali will square off with Japhet Kaseba for the vacant UBO All-Africa Light Heavyweight crown.

31-year-old Kamote, a former Tanzanian national champion and former East & Central Africa titlist, brings a professional record of 23-7-4 (13).

His opponent, Rashid, is less experienced at 8-2 (4), but is on a six fight winning streak, four of those coming inside the distance.

Youngster Thomas Mashali (24) will be attempting to resurrect his promising career the hard way, as he moves up in weight to face Kaseba. Mashali (9-2-1, 5 KOs) last fought on November 16 of last year, when he was stopped by a body punch by Arif Magomedov in a challenge for the UBO Inter-Continental Middleweight title in Russia.

Ten years the older man at 34, and a former Muay Thai world champion, Japhet Kaseba spots a professional boxing ledger of 5-3  (3), but has achieved a lot in his eight bouts in traditional boxing. In 2011 he won the Tanzanian Middleweight title, and last year he captured the same honors at Light Heavyweight.

Also on the card will be a national featherweight title fight between Jay Jay Ngotiko and Fred Sayuni, and a line-up of local prospects in supporting bouts. Mwazoa Promotions is expecting a jam-packed venue and a hectic atmosphere on the night.
