UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Under the patronage of Bas-Congo Governor, his Excellency Mr. Jacques Badu, the Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Lightweight title will be contested on February 15 in the city of Matadi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Reigning champion Peter Kayumba (6-1, 2 KOs) of the Kisangani region will defend his crown against undefeated local Matadi hero Simbidi “Indien” Kisimba (5-0-1, 1 KO).

Kayumba won the title in October 2011 with a fifth round knockout over Justin Muangu.

The highly anticipated bout is organized by the provincial Sport minister of Bas-Congo Mr. Kiaku Mbuta, in collaboration with LINABOXE represented by Mukadi Manda. Supervisor will be UBO regional representative Claude Kaninda.

The undercard will feature interesting clashes between local fighters and opponents from Kinshasa, and local boxing fans are eagerly awaiting the event after frustrations of former UBO All-Africa champion Manroy Sadic losing his title due to inactivity.

The new president of the provincial boxing league in Bas-Congo, Mr. Michel Samba, is working tirelessly with politicians and administrative authorities to make the show the best one possible in D.R.C.
