UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

POSTPONED TO MARCH 22, 2014! Reigning Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Cruiserweight Champion, and former undefeated UBO International and Inter-Continental Champion, Matamba Postolo Debatch is enjoying massive support in his quest to win the vacant UBO World Light Heavyweight title on February 15 in his hometown of Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Postolo (17-0, 11 KOs) is currently training in Miami, USA where he has set up a six month training base to get ready for his big fight, a trip that was made possible with the help of his Excellency DRC interior minister Richard Muyej.

Also supporting Postolo is the governor of Katanga region, where Lubumbashi is the capital, Mr. Moise Katumbi, who is very appreciated in his region for standing behind all sectors of local life. With this in mind, Mr. Katumbi is doing all he can to help Postolo win the first world boxing title ever for Katanga state.

Governor Katumbi and Postolo has a long history together, as Katumbi, living in Zambia at the time, helped the boxer start his professional career back in 2001 by sponsoring the fights promoter Mr. Dalicom Mwamba. Now Postolo will fight for the UBO world championship under the patronage of Governor Katumbi.

The opponent for Postolo will be an American still to be announced, as promoter Mukadi Manda is still negotiating and working on finalizing the contract.

When the time comes, Postolo will be flying from New York to Kinshasa with Turkish Airlines, Europe’s leading airline, and his entire team will fly from Kinshasa to Lubumbashi with D.R.C.´s best airline Fly CAA, a steady supporter of professional boxing in D.R.C. Arriving in Lubumbashi, Turbo-King, the bear of real men, will take care of the rest!

Promoter Mukadi Manda, president of the National League of Pro-Boxing (LINABOXE), will also present two national title fights and three national eliminator fights on the show, besides the UBO World Light Heavyweight title fight with Matamba Postolo.

Rocky Kalenga, seen as a possible successor to Postolo as the big hero of Lubumbashi boxing when he finishes his career in a few years, will challenge for the D.R.C. national Heavyweight title, and welterweight hope Dax Eric Kapia will also go for the D.R.C. title in his division.

Supervisor of the event will be Claude Kaninda, president of the D.R.C. Boxing Commission and UBO West & Central Africa representative. Officials will be flown in from Europe.
