On November 8 at the Salle Theo Bouton in Douai, France, Universal Boxing Organization™ International Light Heavyweight Champion Mohamed Merah will make his first title defense.

25-year-old Merah (8-1-3, 1 KO) will take on Georgian challenger Paata Aduashvili (7-1-2, 3 KOs) on a show promoted by Robert Pantigny and the Douai Boxing Club.

Nicknamed “Parigo”, the reigning champion won the UBO title this past March when he scored a unanimous decision over tough German campaigner Steve Kroekel.

Merah stayed busy with a non title fight victory (UD8) over Hungarian Istvan Orsos in June, and has since been focusing on the task at hand in November.

In Southpaw Aduasvili he will be facing an opponent who is entering his first professional championship fight.

Aduashvili is coming off two convincing victories after suffering his first loss to Orial Kolaj in Rome this summer.

Very disappointed to see his unbeaten record fall in Italy, the talented boxer-puncher has wowed to travel to France in top shape and to return home to his hometown Variani with the UBO belt.

The UBO International title fight main event will be supported by a full undercard with both professional and amateur bouts featuring local talent.
