2012 was a good year for the Universal
Boxing Organization™, and obviously this is
the case because of all the boxers,
promoters, managers, and other people,
involved in our title fights.
|
|
|
| |
|
So once again it is time to acknowledge some of
these people with the annual UBO Boxing Awards,
but at the same time we want to make it clear that
those who doesn’t receive one of the awards are
also very much appreciated.

FIGHT OF THE YEAR |

Bronco
McKart vs. Jose Medina
Monroe, Michigan’s own
Bronco McKart successfully
defended his UBO World
Middleweight title on April
28 in a pulsating battle
with Mexican Jose Medina,
coming out at the other end
with a majority decision
victory.
In front of 4000 fans at the
Huntington Center in Toledo,
Ohio, McKart and Medina went
toe-to-toe from the start, and
after eight rounds of
entertaining boxing it appeared
that the fight could go either
way. McKart managed to finish
strong and pull away on two of
the scorecards (116-112 on
both), while the third had it
even at 114-114.
“I knew I had to finish strong,
but I have been training my
whole life to go twelve rounds
and that’s what I did tonight.
It’s no different from the
beginning of my career”, said
McKart after his fifty-fourth
victory in 64 professional
fights (54-9-1, 32 KOs). |
