UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

On Sunday, November 23, undefeated Armenian star Yuri Sakunts won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Super Welterweight title.

At the Singmanassak Muaythai School in Pathum Thani, Thailand, Sakunts stopped veteran Pipat Chaiporn in two rounds.

Sakunts started the fight aggressively, clearly aiming to stop Chaiporn early, but the experienced Thai countered smartly and landed clean shots on Sakunts, bloodying his nose.

This just made Sakunts even more aggressive, and he soon after hurt Chaiporn with solid shots to the head. Chaiporn made it through the first round, but didn't want to continue when round two started, making Sakunts the winner by technical knockout.

The new UBO world champion improved his professional record to 20-0, keeping an exretemely active schedule since turning pro almost exactly three years ago. Normally a durable campaigner, Chairporn, a pro since 2005, falls to 49-20-2 (32).

Promoter was Manop Iamthuam.
