"La Artillera" UBO World Bantamweight Champion

Eva Cecilia “La Artillera” Santoscoy won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Bantamweight title on Saturday, October 18, with a unanimous decision over compatriot Guadalupe Flores Garcia.

  
 

At the Gimnasio Nazario Ortiz in Saltillo, Mexico, Santoscoy got all she could handle from Flores Garcia, who came forward the entire fight and forced Santoscoy to fight on the retreat and rely on her counter-punching.

After ten rounds of high-paced boxing, judges Jose Reyna, Mario Quintana and Jose Praga all scored the fight 97-93 for Santoscoy, which appeared too wide and didn't reflect the excellent effort of Flores Garcia.

Santoscoy, who entered the fight as the UBO International champion, a title she won last March, improved her record to 12-9 (7).


 
 

Guadalupe Flores Garcia drops to 5-3 (0) but proved that at only nineteen she is definitely one to look out for in the future. A rematch with Santoscoy in the near future would be very deserved.

The fight headlined Knockout Fest 2025 presented by Imperio Promotions in association with Santoscoy Promotions and local Basketball club Racers Saltillo.
