Undefeated Kazakhstani Samatali Toltayev impressively won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Lightweight title on Friday night, July 11, at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in his home-town Almaty.

The 25-year-old southpaw, considered one of the best prospects in his country going in, and fast-tracked as a consequence, was originally scheduled to face Kamran Abdul Wahab, but when the Pakistani was ruled out on short notice, Abdulazizbek Najmiddinov from Uzbekistan stepped in.

Najmiddinov came to fight, but it soon became clear that Toltayev was too sharp and fast for him, as the home-man quickly started to land crisp and accurate punches to body and head.

It all ended already in the first round when Toltayev connected with a well-timed right uppercut to the body of Najmiddiniv, sending him down for the full count of referee Aben Somat. Official tile of stoppage: 1:56.

The new UBO world Lightweight champion, a pro only since February of last year, improved his professional record to 6-0 (3).

Najmiddinov (26), who's only previous loss came at the hands of another top-fighter from Kazakhstan, current UBO world Super Featherweight champion Bekman Soilybayev, drops to 11-2 (9).

The fight headlined show promoted by RD Promotion in association with Tunal Academy.
