As most people in the boxing
world knows, former World
Champion and UBO title
Challenger Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy
found himself in the middle of
tragedy in late January when his
older brother Hydra Lacy fatally
shot two police officers and was
killed himself in the standoff
with police.
Jeff is now reportedly hoping to
do a charity boxing event to
raise money for the victims’
families, a very admirable thing
to do, and the UBO wishes him
good luck and our thoughts are
with him and everybody affected
by this sad situation.

UBO International Super
Middleweight Champion Dhafir
“No Fear” Smith is going for
one more title when he takes on
Jesus Gonzales (25-1) on
March 18 in Phoenix, Arizona.
They will square off for the
vacant IBF North American
championship.

Besides Dr. Michael Schwartz
recently joining as Chief
Medical Officer, the UBO also
recently had two more excellent
additions to our growing team.
Rolando Frascaro is our
new South & Central America
Commissioner, and is already
making great strides in building
relationships with serious and
professional promoters in that
part of the world. We also have
a new legal advisor in attorney
Vanessa De Oliveira, and
we welcome both to the Universal
Boxing Organization™ team.

After things didn’t work out
with the originally planned
opponent, Mason Menard
will now defend his UBO
All-America Lightweight title
against Anthony Napunyi
from Canal Point Florida on
March 12 at the Hilton Towers in
Lafayette, Louisiana.
The undercard will have some
interesting fights involving
prospects Bobby Bryant,
Jarred LeBlanc and
Bailey Bobbit, as well as
Russian power-puncher Sergey
Kovalev.
