Social Medias, a Strange Title, Hizni Wins on Klitschko - Briggs Card and More...

UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™ Various internet social Medias has taken the world by storm, and of course the UBO is onboard. We have had a Facebook Group for about a year now, and more than 8000 people from all over the world have so far joined, including big-rime promoters, managers and boxers, and of course fans. We are very proud of this, as no other sanctioning body comes close to having as many members of their Facebook Groups or pages.

Tickets are available via www.boxncar.com, and we also urge fans to search for and join the Boxncar Promotions Facebook page. LIKE IT!!!

We now have a brand new Twitter page as well, and hope that many fans and industry people will follow us there too. If you haven’t already joined us on Facebook and/or Twitter, please support the UBO by doing so right away and receive all our news updates.

By coincidence the Universal Boxing Organization™ recently discovered that something called the Universal Boxing Hall of Fame, reportedly operating out of California, has at least on one occasion sanctioned what they call a “UBO” title fight. It’s kind of strange, because it’s not clear exactly why they use the U, the B and the O instead of UBHF, which would have made more sense.

On September 25, according to THIS link, Canadian Steve Clagget (9-0-1) defeated fellow countryman Dave Aucoin (1-1) in an eight-rounder for the “UBHF-UBO” Light Welterweight title. We can only hope that this title is not confused with the Universal Boxing Organization™ title!

Universal Boxing Organization™ Youth World Cruiserweight champion Hizni Altunkaya improved his record to 13-0 (7) this past Saturday when he appeared on the big Klitschko vs. Briggs show in Hamburg, Germany. In front of 15.000 spectators at the O2 World Arena, Altunkaya stopped previously undefeated (3-0) Mathias Reinhardt in the first round. After three knockdowns the bout was stopped by referee Frank Michael Mass, and the 22-year-old from Neuwied had again proved his great potential. Altunkaya is scheduled to box at least two more times before the end of the year, and manager, and older brother, Turhan Altunkaya is doing a great job keeping the prospect active.

The UBO All-Africa doubleheader scheduled for Egypt last week (October 13) was unfortunately cancelled due to disagreements between the various parties involved. Another case of boxing politics at its worst! The particulars are quite blurry, and the UBO hope that promoter Richard Nwoba of Louaa Boxing will be back on track soon. We wish him good luck.

UBO European Cruiserweight champion Laszlo Hubert (28-6) is set to fight Russian Alexander Kotlobay (18-2) on October 29 in Saint Petersburg. Tough assignment!

An All-Africa title fight in the Democratic Republic of the Congo involving super featherweight Magbau Pathi is in the works for April 2011. Only four of Pathi´s fights are registered in the BoxRec database, but he has several more, and those four bouts (2-2, 2 KOs), all in Thailand, were against opponents with a combined record of 117-18-2. In his last bout recorded by BoxRec he won the WBC Asian title by stopping local hero Thong Por Chokchai in three rounds. Unfortunately the All-Africa lightweight title fight, originally scheduled for October 16 in Kisangani, D.R.C. between Kayumba Peter and Amuri Amuri, was postponed when the main sponsor of the fight pulled out at short notice.
