The Universal Boxing
Organization™ wants to thank
former Inter-Continental
Lightweight Champion Humberto
Toledo (39-6-2, 24 KOs) for
his time as a UBO champion.
Toledo won the title in
September 2010 with a stoppage
of Luis Ernesto Jose from the
Dominican Republic.
Unfortunately Toledo was not
able to defend the championship
within the time frame stipulated
in the UBO rules and
regulations, and since there
were no immediate plans of a
defense in the near future the
title was declared vacant so
that others could contest it.
American Karl Dargan won the
vacant title August 13 by
stopping Juan Suazo in six
rounds in Atlantic City.
•
Tanzanian Francis Cheka
(22-6-1, 13 KOs) has decided to
vacate the UBO Inter-Continental
Middleweight title due to
difficulties making the 160 Lbs.
weight limit. He will reportedly
only campaign at 168 Lbs. in the
future.
Cheka won the title in March
2008 by defeating countryman
Hassan Matumla. He since made
three successful defenses in
sold out arenas, and remains one
of the biggest draws in
Tanzanian boxing.

UBO Female World Super
Bantamweight Champion Renata
Szebeledi scored yet another
non-title victory on August 19,
and remains very busy.
Six days earlier, on August 13,
she won a fight in Hungary (TKO
1), and on the 19th
Szebeledi stopped Gabriella
Vicze in two rounds of a
scheduled ten on a show in
Slovakia. She is now riding an
eight-fight winning streak.
Losing her first FIVE pro bouts,
Szebeledi has since gone 14-3
and won two world titles.
Besides the UBO crown, she also
holds the World Boxing
Federation Bantamweight title.
Two of the tree defeats were in
World title fights.
Another UBO Champion improved
his record on August 24, as
All-Africa Light Heavyweight
Champion Hany Atiyo won
the Egyptian national title with
a twelve round unanimous
decision over Mahmoud Suleiman.
Atiyo won the UBO title in March
of this year, and is now 10-0
(7).
