No
stranger to going into his
opponents backyard and get a
good result, Ribchev dominated
the fight and clearly outboxed
Mustafa, only to see the judges
score the fight even at the end
of six rounds.
Ribchev won the UBO title this
past February when he scored a
unanimous decision over Latvian
dangerman
Jurijs Boreiko at the Dunav Hall
in hometown Rousse, and could
defend the title in late summer
at the same venue.

Bolivian Franklin Mamani
(9-0-1, 6 KOs), the UBO Latino
Welterweight champ, is moving up
in weight to fight Frenchman
Sebastian Medani (30-1, 9 KOs)
for the vacant World Boxing
Federation Intercontinental
Light Middleweight strap on June
11 in Pas-de-Calais, France.
It remains to be seen if Mamani
intends to stay at 154 Lbs., but
in any case he will have to soon
officially, and properly,
schedule a defense of his UBO
title to remain champion.
“El Matador Jr” has fought twice
since winning the title last
October, and both times Bolivian
press reported that it was UBO
title defenses. However, that
was not the case, no matter what
was said and written in Bolivia,
and unfortunately it seems that
someone is…well, not so
concerned with the truth…

Inter-Continental Middleweight
Champion Francis Cheka

Cheka, a UBO champion since
March 2008 and coming off a
decision victory over countryman
Mada Maugo in January, will
reportedly face Kenyan Daniel
Wanyoni (8-4-2, 6 KOs).

It’s been mentioned before, but
here we go again…: Facebook is
closing down the old group’s
format within the next few
months, so the old UBO Group,
with well above 10.000 members,
will be replaced by the new
