Ribchev, New Videos, Ntambi and More...

UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™ UBO International Middleweight Champion Alexei Ribchev (9-2-1, 3 KOs) from Bulgaria recently travelled to Florence, Italy for a non-title fight against local favorite and former European title-challenger Ilir Mustafa (27-12-3, 17 KOs), and was unlucky to only be handed a draw.

No stranger to going into his opponents backyard and get a good result, Ribchev dominated the fight and clearly outboxed Mustafa, only to see the judges score the fight even at the end of six rounds.

Ribchev won the UBO title this past February when he scored a unanimous decision over Latvian dangerman Jurijs Boreiko at the Dunav Hall in hometown Rousse, and could defend the title in late summer at the same venue.

A short video is now available from the Cecilia Comunales vs. Alicia Susana Alegre UBO Female World Lightweight title fight in Paysandu, Uruguay this past April.

Check out the video here.

Also, a highlight video of the 2009 UBO International Super Middleweight title fight between Kali Jacobus and Temo Kolitapa is now available in our video section.

Bolivian Franklin Mamani (9-0-1, 6 KOs), the UBO Latino Welterweight champ, is moving up in weight to fight Frenchman Sebastian Medani (30-1, 9 KOs) for the vacant World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Light Middleweight strap on June 11 in Pas-de-Calais, France.

It remains to be seen if Mamani intends to stay at 154 Lbs., but in any case he will have to soon officially, and properly, schedule a defense of his UBO title to remain champion.

“El Matador Jr” has fought twice since winning the title last October, and both times Bolivian press reported that it was UBO title defenses. However, that was not the case, no matter what was said and written in Bolivia, and unfortunately it seems that someone is…well, not so concerned with the truth…

Inter-Continental Middleweight Champion Francis Cheka (21-6-1, 13 KOs) has a non-title fight scheduled for June 25 in Morogoro, Tanzania.

Cheka, a UBO champion since March 2008 and coming off a decision victory over countryman Mada Maugo in January, will reportedly face Kenyan Daniel Wanyoni (8-4-2, 6 KOs).

A summer defense is being worked on for UBO World Super Flyweight Champion Mudde Ntambi Rabison (17-1-1, 6 KOs), and Promoter Eddie Bazira and his Baltic Probox Promotion is hoping to confirm a date soon.

Ntambi Rabison won the UBO World title in February when he won a unanimous decision over Fadhili Majia at the Little Flowers Arena in Kampala, Uganda.
