Cooper, perhaps most famous for knocking down the great Muhammad Ali, retired in 1971 with a 40-14-1 record. May he rest in peace!
 

• When Tunisian Mohamed Dridi won the UBO International Cruiserweight title on April 28 in Dijon, France, he had a very accomplished former champion in his corner. Dridi is trained by former European and WBO World Super Featherweight Champion Daniel Londas, who campaigned between 1980 and 1993.

Now 56 years old, Londas compilled a 58-9-1 professional record, and shared a ring with the likes of Brian Mitchell, Genaro Hernandez and Dingaan Thobela.  

• UBO All-America Lightweight champion Mason Menard (15-1, 12 KOs) will take on Fernando Rodriguez (6-3, 3 KOs) from Dallas, Texas in a non title eight rounder on June 4 at the Rayne Civic Center.

• The UBO Youth Cruiserweight title is now vacant, as German Hizni Altunkaya chose not to defend the championship within the required time-period. The Universal Boxing Organization™ want to thank the undefeated prospect for his time as a UBO champion, and wish him good luck in the future.  
 

• Tanzanian Juma Fundi has been stripped of his UBO World Flyweight title. Fundi fought for a new organizations title and lost to an opponent who would not have been qualified to fight for a UBO world title, and therefore the championship is now vacant for other boxers to compete for.
