UBO All-America Lightweight
Champion Mason Menard
(15-1, 12 KOs) will return to
action on June 4 in hometown
Rayne, Louisiana.
Menard, who last defended his
title on March 12 with a
unanimous decision over Anthony
Napunyi, will be in a non-title
eight-rounder against an
opponent to be announced.
The June 4 fight will be at the
Rayne Civic Center where Menard
won the UBO title in October
2010 by stopping Robbie Cannon
in seven rounds. Tickets will
go on sale in May and can be
bought via

Promoter Mukadi Manda has
made some changes in his
schedule of UBO All-Africa title
fights in the Democratic
Republic of Congo in the near
future.
Instead of April 23, All-Africa
Cruiserweight champion Manroy
Sadic will now defend his
title on May 7, and the opponent
will be John Chibuta from
Zambia instead of Mohamed
Asma from Niger.
Asma will instead challenge
All-Africa Heavyweight champion
Matamba Postolo on April
30.

UBO Female World Super
Bantamweight champion Renata
Szebeledi scored another
non-title victory on April 7
when she decisioned Marianna
Gulyas in Budapest. After losing
her first five professional
fights, Szebeledi is now 10-8
(5) and could be in a defense of
her title this summer.

All-Africa Light Heavyweight
champion Hany Atiyo from
Egypt is keeping busy. After
winning the title on March 31 at
the Kafr el-Sheikh University,
Atiyo returned to that same
venue on April 15 to win (TKO6)
a non-title fight over
countryman Mahmoud Suleiman.
There are plans for the
27-year-old to fight again in
late May, perhaps in a UBO title
defense, and again at Kafr
el-Sheikh University.

UBO Latino Welterweight champion
Franklin Mamani won a ten
round decision in a non-title
fight on April 15 in La Paz,
Bolivia. Mamani beat Argentinean
Jeremias Ezequiel Castillo,
and is now 9-0-1 (6) as a
professional.
