Another UBO champion with
up-coming action is recently
crowned All-America lightweight
champion “Rock Hard Mighty”
Mason Menard. Menard, 12-0
(10), who beat Robbie Cannon on
July 31 in hometown Rayne, is
penciled in to fight unnamed
opponents in eight-rounders on
October 14 at the Capital
Pavilion in Rayne and on
December 2 at the Hilton Towers
in Lafayette, Louisiana.

UBO International Cruiserweight
Champion Matamba Postolo
won a scheduled eight round non
title fight on Saturday
September 4 at the Batiment du
30 Juin in Lubumbashi, D.R,C.
Postolo, who’s record now stands
at 11-0 (6), stopped Rocky
Kalenga on a second round
technical knockout and is now
scheduled to defend his title on
October 30, also in Lubumbashi,
against an opponent TBA.

On the same October show as
Postolo, undefeated UBO
International welterweight king
Ilunga Dominique will
also be in action in a title
defense. Promoter Mukadi Manda
is also working on an opponent
for this one.

In accordance with the UBO rules
and regulations, lightweight
Dariusz Snarski and
cruiserweight Goran Delic
have been stripped of their
world titles as they have not
defended their titles within the
stipulated time frame and have
no concrete plans to defend in
the near future. The Universal
Boxing Organization™ would like
to thank both boxers for
representing the UBO, and wish
them both best of luck in the
future.

Inter-Continental super
middleweight champion Joseph
Kwadjo, 20-3 (15), is set to
fight Cameroon-born Australian
Serge Yannick for the PABA title
on October 1 “Down Under”.
Kwadjo, originally from Ghana
but currently residing in Fiji,
is coming off a great win in
Australia as he stopped former
WBA world title challenger Jamie
Pittman (19-1) in April of this
year.

The Universal Boxing
Organization™ would like to
welcome Joseph Akhasamba
as our new official
representative for Kenya. Mr.
Akhasamba is a former UBO
champion himself, winning the
International Cruiserweight
title in 2005. He retired from
the ring in 2006 after winning,
besides the UBO belt at cruiser,
Kenyan, African and WBB titles
at heavyweight, and faced such
notables as Willi Fischer and
Denis Bakhtov.

UBO Inter-Continental
Bantamweight champion Mbwana
“The African Golden Boy” Matumla
moved down to super flyweight on
August 28 and lost a spirited
twelve round decision to former
WBA World Bantamweight champion
Volodymyr Sydorenko in Ukraine.
Matumla is now 19-5 (11). |
