UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

The pride of Congolese professional Boxing, Matamba Postolo, will be going for his fourth Universal Boxing Organization™ title on March 9, when he takes on Georges Akuvi from Niger for the vacant All-Africa Cruiserweight crown.

After more than a year without international professional boxing in D.R.C, FlyCAA and Bralima, with their beer of real men, are helping bring back the sweet science to the Central African country.

FlyCAA, the most popular airline in D.R.C, is the fusion of the old CAA and FlyCongo, both of which have previously supported promoter Mukadi Manda through representatives Mr. Dilip Tewani and Mr. Gaston Yabondo.

Helping Congolese youth in general, FlyCAA will go straight from supporting the Matamba Postolo vs. George Akuvi fight to sponsoring the Marathon Of Hope on March 17 in Kinshasa.

Undefeated Matamba Postolo (15-0, 9 KOs) won the UBO International Cruiserweight title in July 2010, and then moved up in weight to lift the All-Africa Heavyweight title in October of that same year. In July 2011 he captured the Inter-Continental championship at Cruiserweight.

Now he will attempt to be the first boxer in history to win four UBO titles, and he will be doing so in hometown Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of The Congo, on a show promoted by 2011 UBO Promoter Of The Year Mukadi Manda.

His opponent, Georges Akuvi, brings a record of 10-1 (5) and will be travelling to D.R.C. with loads of confidence. After winning his first seven bouts he lost for the first time in October 2010, and decided to take a break from boxing. He returned in 2012 and racked up three convincing victories to set up the fight with Postolo.

“I have no fear of Postolo, and I am planning to knock him out on March 9”, Akuvi recently told local media. “Since coming back from my break I have been full of hunger to win a championship, and I won’t let this opportunity pass me by!”
