20-year-old Nasreddine (5-0, 4 KOs) impressed by
winning the Algerian national title in only his
fifth professional fight last July when he stopped
the much more experienced Mounir Chebbane in four
rounds.
He turned pro in November 2010, and will now be
going for his first major title in his hometown.
Lanquaye Wilson (15-6, 8 KOs) will without a doubt
be the biggest challenge so far for the
up-and-coming Algerian.
A former Ghanaian champion and WBC International
title-challenger, Wilson has shared a ring with
renowned names such as the world class Kevin
Mitchell, and he is coming off two victories at
home to set up the encounter with Nasreddine.
Algerian boxing is on the rise, and with local
icons such as UBO World Heavyweight Champion
Mohamed Benguesmia and prospects like Nasreddine
the future looks bright.
Should Nasreddine be successful on March 14, and
continue his climb up the ladder, he could very
well be the next boxing super star in his country.
