On September 29 at the PTA Hall in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, former UBO Inter-Continental Middleweight Champion Francis Cheka and former WBF World Middleweight Champion Karama Nyilawila will clash for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ International Super Middleweight title.

The bout will be promoted by Oswald Mlay, and is a rematch of their original meeting this past January where Cheka won a close decision in his hometown of Morogoro.

Being two of the biggest names in Tanzanian boxing, the sequel is sure to attract a massive crowd on the night, and loads of attention throughout the country.

Cheka (25-6-1, 14 KOs) won his Middleweight UBO title in 2008, and made three successful defenses before relinquishing the championship for a move up in weight in 2011. Riding an eleven-fight winning streak, his rematch with Nyilawila will be his sixth in his new division.

While their first fight was in Cheka’s hometown, this time it will be on the turf of Dar Es Salaam resident Karama Nyilawila (13-8-2, 6 KOs), who pulled off quite an upset in 2010 when he travelled to Albania to win the WBF World title with a clear unanimous decision over then reigning champion Kreshnik Qato, and made a good account of himself against Cheka in January.

Both fighters have proved their capabilities in the past, and both are determined to settle their differences in the ring once and for all on September 29. Besides the UBO title, a lot of pride is at stake in the fight and both will be willing to leave everything in the ring to come out victorious.
