Now the fight is back on, and Williams will travel
to Hungary to fight Petranyi on June 10 at the
Ramada Hotel in Budapest, in what will reportedly
be the final fight of his impressive career.
The bout will be a rematch of their 2005 encounter
in Manchester, where Petranyi was stopped in three
rounds after coming in at short notice.
Besides the victory he is most famous for, his
2004 upset triumph over the legendary Mike Tyson,
“The Brixton Bomber” has beaten notable names such
as Kali Meehan, Michael Sprott, Audley Harrison,
Matt Skelton, Konstantin Airich, John McDermott
and Al Cole. |

Zoltan Petranyi won the UBO European title in
January 2011 by stopping countryman Laszlo Toth in
five rounds, and has since defended the crown once
by beating Romanian Zoltan Somosi in two this past
January. He has won his last eleven fights, and is
29-5 since his first clash with Williams.
This time they will meet on Petranyi’s home turf,
but it remains to be seen what kind of difference
this will make. The champion will be determined to
keep his title and get revenge in front of his
supporters, while Williams will surely be
hell-bend on finishing his career on a high note.
The Zoltan Petranyi vs. Danny Williams UBO
European Heavyweight title fight on June 10 at the
Ramada Hotel in Budapest, Hungary is presented by
Profibox-Promotion.
