When DEF Promotions in cooperation with J&J Promotions presents no less than four UBO title fights at the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong on April 26, some significant changes has been made to the card. One fight is off, one fight has been added, and one fight is upgraded.

But the show, labeled Thursday Night Fights II,  is now without a doubt the most significant promotion in the history of Hong Kong boxing!

The originally planned UBO World Super Flyweight title fight between Randy Petalcorin and Noli Morales had to be scrapped due to passport issues, but is replaced by an equally interesting bout for the vacant UBO World Bantamweight crown, pitting fellow Filipinos Fernando Lumacad (25-3-3, 11 KOs) and Glenn Suminguit (12-1, 7 KOs).

Lumacad, who’s defeats came against world class fighters Jorge Arce, Juan Jose Montes and Wandee Singwancha, is clearly the more experienced of the two, but Suminguit will likely give him problems with his speedy and tricky southpaw boxing style, and this shapes up to be a fascinating clash of styles.

Lefoumbou Ngoma (8-2-1, 6 KOs), originally from Republic of the Congo but now fighting out of Hong Kong, was scheduled to fight Thailand’s Plaisakda Singwancha for the vacant UBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight title, but will now instead take on an opponent to be confirmed for the vacant UBO World title.

Unchanged is the fact that local favorite Rex Tso (5-0, 3 KOs) squares off with Pongpan Patanakan Gym (11-7-1, 10 KOs) for the vacant UBO Asia Pacific Super Flyweight Championship, and Hong Kong-based Samoan heavyweight Lawrence Tauasa (32-9-1, 20 KOs) fights TBA for the vacant UBO International title.
