The fight will be presented by promoter Mukadi
Manda in cooperation with Beltexco, the country’s
leading distributer of consumer goods, who has
always been a big supporter of professional boxing
in D.R.C. with their Nelson razor blades.
Still only 19-years-old (he turns 20 on January
30), Eric Kapia Mukadi is by African boxing
insiders considered to be one of the brightest
hopes of Congolese boxing.
Style-wise he is
compared to legendary names such as Sugar Ray
Leonard and newly-crowned UBO Inter-Continental
Champion Roy Jones Jr.
If successful against Dodo, Mukadi will be
looking to defend the All-Africa title three times
before going for the Inter-Continental
championship, and eventually a world title shot.
But first “the Young Nelson Champion”, nicknamed
so in honor of the support from Beltexco, has to
beat the undefeated Nigerian.
However, time is on his side, and he has a busy
fighting-schedule ahead to help prepare him for
the lofty goals of the future: |
