Under the guidance of manager Joe Corvino, Jake
Giuriceo (26) turned professional in 2009 and has
since gone undefeated in fourteen bouts (13-0-1, 3
KOs).
In his last outing, this past August, Giuriceo
went eight rounds for the first time when he
scored a unanimous decision over Dominican puncher
Ramesis Gil.
The fight against Green will be his first title
bout, and his first scheduled ten-rounder. If
successful, winning the UBO All-America title will
be a nice step on the way for Giuriceo towards his
dream of one day winning a world championship.
But opponent Bryne Green will not be a cake walk
on November 19.
From Vineland, N.J., 27-year-old Green holds a
modest 7-4-1 (3) professional record, but seems to
have found his form this year.
He won his first three pro fights back in 2008,
but then hit a rough patch that saw him lose four
decisions in six bouts between June 2008 and
October 2010.
However, since then he has not lost, beating Ryan
Belasco (14-4-3), drawing with Eliud Torres
(5-2-2) and defeating Tyrone Luckey (4-0).
This will also be his first shot at a
championship. |
