On July 30 at the US Steel Yard Stadium in Gary,
Idiana, White will take on Edward Ochoa (11-2, 10
KOs) from nearby Hobart for the vacant Universal
Boxing Organization™ All-America Welterweight
crown on a show promoted by Giovanni Gotti and his
Knockout Sports Promotions.
A former Indiana State Welterweight Champion,
White has shared a ring with notables such as
current WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio
Cesar Chavez Jr., former IBF World Lightweight
Champion Paul Spadafora and then undefeated
top-contender Anthony Peterson.
Despite losing to these big names, White gained
valuable experience that should be an advantage
against the less seasoned Ochoba.
Edward “2 Fast 2 Furious” Ochoba hasn’t mixed with
anyone anywhere near the same class as White has
operated in, but the July 30 fight will be his
second title opportunity after losing to
undefeated William Jackson for the Ohio State
championship last year.
In his most recent outing Ochoa knocked out
journeyman Gabriel Morris, and his massive
punching power will make him a very live underdog
against White.
