Since losing a unanimous decision to Matamba
Postolo for the UBO title in Mbuji-Mayi in July
2010, Aggry has realized that everything has a
time. There was a time for fighting, and now there
is a time to stop fighting and become a coach for
the D.R.C. national amateur team, which needs his
many years of experience to develop young boxers.
But on August 6 at the Stade Tchikisha in
Mbuji-Mayi Kabuya Aggry will step in the ring one
last time. In his farewell fight, Aggry will take
on Samba Hurcus from Congo-Brazzaville over eight
rounds on the same show as another local hero,
Djenny Lukusa, squares off with Douglas Chilembe
from Zambia for the UBO All-Africa Heavyweight
title.
Staged under the high patronage of provincial
governor, the honorable Alfonse Ngoyi Kasanji, the
Lukusa vs. Chilembe fight will be the first ever
All-Africa title fight in the Kasai-Oriental
Province. In his last fight Lukusa lost on a
second round technical knockout to Matamba Postolo
when a broken right hand made it impossible for
him to continue.
Now Lukusa wants to show the very
sports-interested governor that he is very much
able to do the province and entire country proud
inside the boxing ring. Ngoyi Kasanji was present
for the Lukusa vs. Postolo fight, and never misses
a boxing show when he is not travelling.
Governor Ngoy Kasanji will not only be
representing the Kasai-Oriental province on August
6. Since the main event fight will be D.R.C.
against Zambia, he will also be representing
president Joseph Kabila who wants to see the flag
of the republic flying high at big sporting events
like this.
