UBO Triple-Header in Hungary

December 2, 2010 / BY UBO PRESS OFFICER

No less than three Universal Boxing Organization™ title fights will take place on the same show when Profibox-Promotion promotes on December 14 in Hungarian capital Budapest.

At Cruiserweight, UBO European Champion Laszlo Hubert will take on Romanian Istvan Varga for the vacant World title. Hubert, 28-7 (18), won the European title this past September in Slovakia, and is now determined to take the next step and realize his dream of becoming a world champion.

Varga, 18-12 (5), a former IBF Mediterranean Light Heavyweight champion, is coming off a victory in November, and will arrive in Budapest full of confidence that he will succeed in his new weight class. An obvious underdog, Varga is upset-minded and realize he might never get an opportunity of this magnitude again.

UBO International Heavyweight Champion Laszlo Toth, 8-1 (4), will also be going for higher stakes as he fights three-time Hungarian Champion Zoltan Petranyi, 44-20 (11), for the vacant UBO European title. Toth captured the International title in October, and has since scored two stoppage victories in non-title fights. Like Petranyi, he is riding an eight-fight winning streak.

In the third and final UBO title fight, two very good women will contest the vacant UBO Female Super Bantamweight World title. Ironically both boxers are former two-time World-title-challengers but have negative professional records.

European Cruiserweight Champion Laszlo Hubert Going For UBO World Title!

The numbers are very much deceiving!

Renata Szebeledi, 6-8 (4), lost her first five fights before winning six of her next seven. This will be the 20-year-olds third World title fight in 2010, as she lost hard-fought and close decisions in South Africa and Russia for WBF championships earlier in the year, proving her quality and potential. She will be hoping to finally get her arms raised and a belt around her waist in her hometown.

In the opposite corner will be Romanian Gabriella Insperger, 4-8 (3). Like Szebeledi she got a dreadful start to her career, losing her first four bouts. Two of the losses were to future World champion Victoria Milo, one was to future European Champion Sonia De Biase, and one to future World Champion Julia Sahin.

Insperger won her next four outings, before losing a third fight with Milo on points. In her next bout she challenged Krisztina Belinski for the WIBU World title, and lost on points. In 2008 she fought Beatrix Farago for the WIBC World Championship, but once again got the short end of the decision.

Baring a draw, it will be third time lucky for either Insperger or Szebeldi on the 14th.
