Close Call In El Paso, As Barry Edges Brizuela For UBO Continental Crown

Barry was supposed to face DeJon Farrell-Francis, but when the New Jersey fighter pulled out, Barry was instead matched with Kevin “Warrior” Brizuela on short notice.

And 25-year-old Brizuela lived up to his nickname, as he gave Barry (31), a feared puncher, plenty to handle from start to finish.

These two fighters brought out the best in each-other, and Barry showed that he is more than just a knock-out artist, that he can bite down and step things up when the going gets tough.

Both men deserves a lot of credit for putting on excellent performances, but in the end it was a Majority Decision victory for Barry.

Judge Rocky Berg scored it even at 76-76, which was overruled by judges Daniel Sandoval and Lawrence Louick, who both had it 77-75 for the home-town hero.

Barry, is now 11-0-1 (10) since turning professional in March of 2024. Brizuela drops to a misleading 9-5 (6), but proved that he is a serious fighter who can also go a long way.

The fight was part of Ring Wars, promoted by Kings Promotions and broadcast live by Box Azteca America.
