At the Arena Puerto Montt in Puerto Montt,
Chile, broadcast live by Canal CDO, Cruzat boxed
excellently on the back-foot as Furtado
aggressively came forward but found it difficult
to pin the local man down to land solidly.
Cruzat, appeared in control in most rounds, and
scored a knock-down in round three when he,
fighting off the ropes, countered beautifully
with a right hand over the top.
Furtado got up and continued his attempts close
the distance and shift the momentum, but Cruzat
was too slick and skilled.

With fifteen second left in round ten referee
Claudio Villanueva ordered the boxers to break,
but Furtado continued and floored Cruzat after the
instruction.
A visibly hurt and distraught Cruzat was examined
by the ringside doctor, who determined that the
fight should be stopped and Furtado disqualified
as a consequence. It was an unfortunate ending to
an otherwise good fight.
At the time of the disqualification, Cruzat had
won every round on two judges cards, and seven out
of the nine completed according to the third
judge.
Cruzat improved his professional record to 16-0
(10). Furtado drops to 12-3 (11). The fight
headlined a show promoted by MCC Producciones.
