The
talented
24-year-old
Indian, who currently holds a
modest
8-5-1 (5)
professional record, has proven his quality in
tough
outings
against quality opponents, but he has always
been “the opponent” in his biggest fights so
far.
In June of
2023, also in Bangkok,
he
lost a razor-close decision to current UBO Youth
world champion Ege Konuk, when the two prospects
contested the WBC Asian Silver Lightweight
title.
After that
fight Manish bulked up, and has since fought at
Middleweight and Super Middleweight, with his
additional four losses coming in his opponents
back-yards in Tanzania, South Korea, and the
United Kingdom twice.

On August 15 he
will face Thai veteran Tanawat Phonnaku (32-16-1,
20 KOs), a southpaw former WBA world
title-challenger who has seen it call and is
expected to be a tricky proposition for Manish.
Phonnaku will be
coming down in weight from his previous bout, a
victory at Super Middleweight, but Manish is a
healthy favourite to finally win a significant
fight, and become UBO champion.
