Fox Aims To Rebound Against Castaneda, Become Two-Weight UBO Champ

Fox (24-5, 5 KOs) takes on Kendo Castaneda (21-10, 9 KOs) for the vacant UBO Continental (North America) Super Welterweight title on a big card presented by 2024 UBO Promoter of the Year, Jeter Promotions.

Almost exactly a year ago Fox won the UBO Inter-Continental title at Welterweight, beating Donald “Bulldog” Ward at the same venue.

This will be “The Professor´s” first fight since moving up two divisions, from Welterweight to Middleweight, for a fight against highly-regarded former WBC world champion Serhii Bohachuk this past May, losing a decision some felt should have gone his way.

Regardless of the disputed result, Fox proved again that he belongs at world level. Just like he did in August of 2021 when he was outright robbed in a WBA world Welterweight title fight, seeing the decision inexplicably go against him after he schooled Venezuelan Gabriel Maestre.

Kendo Castaneda, a former WBA NABA, IBA and ABF champion from San Antonio, Texas, is as tough as they come, and will do all he can to score an upset. But Fox comes prepared after a training camp in Australia, sparring former WBO world champion Tim Tszyu.

Castaneda´s ten defeats have come against top opponents with a combined 188-13-5 record, and he will see the fight against Fox as an opportunity to make a big statement.

It remains to be seen if the toughness and aggressiveness of Castaneda will be enough on the night, or if the silky-smooth skills of Fox will be too much for him to handle. Regardless, it is bound to be an interesting and entertaining encounter.
