Josue “Zurdo” Morales takes on Conner “Kid Canelo” Goade for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Flyweight title on July 19 at the Bayou Event Center in Houston, Texas.

Still only 32 years old, Morales (33-19-5, 14 KOs) has already held two UBO titles, winning the Latino Super Flyweight in 2021 and International Super Flyweight in 2021. He is also a former IBA, ABF and WBC Silver champion.

While he has more losses than most quality fighters, it should be noted that he has rarely turned down a fight, and faced some of the best in the world, often on short notice. And always held his own.

In 2018 he lost on points to current pound-for-pound entrant, and multiple weight world champion, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, and in his most recent outing, on June 28, he came up short on the scorecards against former WBA world champion John “Srappy” Ramirez.

Experience and accomplishments considered, the local man must be seen as a healthy favourite against Goade (25), from Florenze, Arizona, but the younger man has no intentions of letting his first championship opportunity pass him by.

Goade (7-3-2, 6 KOs) is arguably the harder puncher, and, while Morales has never been stopped, he will be confident that his power can at least make a dent in his foe, and take him out of his comfort zone to a degree where the fight develops in his favour.

Morales vs. Goade for the UBO Inter-Continental Flyweight title is the main event of “Red, White & Brawl”, promoted by Texas Combat Sports Promotions & Media LLC.
