“The Jedi” won the UBO title on December 27 when he unanimously out-scored Thailand´s former two-time WBC world champion Sirimongkhon Iamthuam in a rematch in Ankara, Turkey.

It was a convincing and wide victory (118-109, 118-109, 119-108) for the Australian, who was fighting for more than the UBO belt.

Last October Iamthuam was declared the winner of their first fight, in Bangkok, after a fight that many felt that Floyd had won comfortably. So in Turkey, he was out to prove a point, which he certainly did.

While the October-bout was later declared a No Contest by the championship organization sanctioning it, it still stands as a split decision loss on Floyd´s BoxRec record. For now it says 15-1 (10), but will be 15-0 (10) if eventually adjusted.
