23-year-old hot-shot Junior Cruzat impressively won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (South America) Super Featherweight title on Saturday night, December 7.

At the Gimnasio Fiscal in his home-town of Llanquihue, Chile, Cruzat took on Andres Penaloza from Colombia, and put on what can only be described as a statement performance.

Cruzat was the boss from the start, using his longer reach to keep Penaloza at bay and hitting him with shots to both body and head.

In round three Cruzat floored Penaloza twice, but the game Colombian beat the count of referee Claudio Villanueva both times and made it through the stanza.

In round four it was all over though, as Cruzat sent Penaloza to the canvas again and Villanueva had seen enough and waived it over.

Promoted by Maria Cornejo Munoz, Cruzat improved his professional record to 15-0 (10) and could soon be in line for a shot at world honours. Penaloza drops to 6-4 (5).
