UBO Inter-Continental super
middleweight champion Joseph
Kwadjo (14-1, 10 KOs) proved he
is a class act, and a genuine
danger-man in his weight class,
on Thursday at the La Montage
Reception Center in Sydney, NSW,
Australia.
Kwadjo, born in Ghana but
fighting out of Fiji, stopped
former WBA world title
challenger Jamie Pittman, now
19-2, 8 KOs, in round seven, and
added the IBF Australasian title
to his collection in the
process.
In his previous bout before
going to Australia, Kwadjo beat
Zulfikar Joy Ali in Suva, Fiji
to lift the UBO crown.
As the bout progressed, the
talent of Pittman, who before
facing Kwadjo only had lost to
world champion Felix Sturm in
2008, was obvious, but the
visitor showed true grit and
determination, and in round
seven he decked a bleeding
Pittman three times with
headshots, forcing referee John
Gauchi to stop the fight. |
